Leaking Tapware

From David:
Hi, I have a problem with a leaking mixer tap. It leaks at the junction where the spout arm meet the tap base. I have already replaced the cartridge, but the leak is still occurring. Do you have any suggestions? I have linked a youtube clip showing the leak. Cheers, Dave. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDaUa-D-ESQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Hi Dave, Thanks for your question. I’ve viewed the youtube clip. The tap appears to be a new tap. If this is so and the tap is still under the warranty period, return it as it would appear that the actual tap is faulty. I would be returning it to place of purchase as it would be a manufacturing fault in the tap. If however, the tap is a little older, the cause would be corrosion in the actual tap unit. This is generally only found in old taps, or cheap low quality tapware. The only fix is to replace the tap. Cheers Ernie
